# CauseComp CauseComp provides nonprofit compensation benchmarking for two audiences in one tool: executive pay, derived from IRS Form 990 and 990-EZ filings (Schedule J and Part VII) sourced directly from the IRS, and broad-based workforce pay, derived from U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS/ECEC data and O*NET role context. It is built by RB Consulting Services for nonprofit HR teams, executive directors, compensation committees, and boards that need documented, board-ready market data without commissioning a full consulting study. Benchmarks are interactive and calibrated to an organization's budget size, sector, and location, with §4958 comparables and board-ready PDF reports. ## Dataset coverage (self-updating; last built 2026-10-12) - Executive: Form 990 compensation records from a corpus of 171,000+ filing organizations; §4958 comparables sets draw on each organization's three most recent filing years, from organizations that have filed in the last five years; 100+ executive roles. - Workforce: 850+ roles across ~390 metros, from BLS OEWS (vintage May 2025) with ECEC (March 2026) incentive/benefits loads and O*NET work-context scoring. - Data as of: OEWS May 2025, ECEC March 2026. ## Claude and ChatGPT connector (AI-first access) CauseComp is built AI-first: connect your CauseComp account to Claude or ChatGPT and ask for executive comp benchmarks and workforce salary ranges in plain English — the same engine behind the web tools. Add the connector in Claude's Settings → Connectors (mcp.causecomp.org) and sign in with your CauseComp account (OAuth; Professional plan). The connector's tools cover executive benchmarks (P10–P90, pay components; state, metro, 501(c) type, NTEE subsector, and projection to a date you choose), workforce benchmarks (nonprofit or private sector, by seniority and headcount, with the geography used stated), §4958 comparables with a composition line, the board-ready §4958 PDF itself, your own peer list by name or EIN, organization lookup by name to EIN, the published methodology quoted by section, peer sets across sectors and across roles, and role/sector/state/metro lookups that return the valid vocabulary instead of guessing. API keys cover Model Context Protocol clients other than Claude and ChatGPT. ChatGPT users can connect the same server today as a custom MCP server (on ChatGPT Business, only workspace admins and owners can add one; on Enterprise, admins can grant the permission to members); it also requires a CauseComp Professional-plan account.
